About Me

Born in Izmir, Mezzo Soprano Serap Ciftci started her professional music education at the Opera Singing Department of Performing Arts and Music at Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatoire, in Izmir, Turkey. She worked with Prof. Sevda Aydan, who is considered one of the most eminent and successful Turkish opera singers.

Following her graduation, she won the audition at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul and began her professional music career at Cemal Resit Rey Opera House in 1998. A year later, she joined Antalya State Opera and Ballet and participated as soloist in many operas and concerts in the United States, Latin America and Europe.

Some of the performances she gave are La Traviata- Flora, Cavalleria Rusticana- Lola, Damdaki Kemanci – Golde, Rusalka – Jezibaba, Il Trovatore – Azucena, Aski Memnu -Matmazel de Courton, Ali Baba ve Kirk Haramiler – Zeynep and Karacoglan- Sems.

In 2002 and 2005, she went to Austria to attend three different masterclasses in opera voice training in Vienna Music Academia in Lilienfeld . In 2009, she gave a concert at the Ephesus Antique Theater in Izmir with famous Canadian Jazz singer Nikki Yanofsky. In the same year, she was invited by the Turkish Prime Ministry to give a concert in Ankara for consuls, ambassadors and high level bureaucrats. In 2011, she attended the world famous Italian Tenor Vincenzo La Scola’s master class.

In 2012, she gave three concerts in Lincoln Center in New York City, at the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. and in Pera Palas in Istanbul as part of the Orient Express Project by Musica Mundana Chamber Orchestra.

In addition to her opera performances and concerts in Turkey and the United States, she has given numerous concerts and recitals in Latin America. In 2014, she gave solo concerts during the Turkish Republic Day Receptions in Quito, Equator and Caracas, Venezuela. She gave concert 20th İnternational Tourizm Exhibition Opening Ceremony Concert in İstanbul 2016.

Mogollistan 23 and 30 April 2016. She gave a concert at the Mongolian State Opera and Ballet Hall, the biggest opera hall in the country due to the Turkish Days Celebrations in the capital Ulanbatur with the invitation of Ambassador Murat Karagöz. At the Turkish Embassy Residence Reception, Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Mongolian Ministers and Bureaucrats attended the concert for top level invitations.

UGANDA 2 June 2016. She gave a concert in the scope of Turkish Culture Promotion activities with the invitation of Ambassador Ayse Sedef Yavuzalpin in Uganda capital city Kampala. The Uganda Minister of Culture, Minister of Economy of Uganda, Ambassadors and Bureaucrats attended the concert and had the honor of being the first Opera singers made a concert with Turkish and world repertoires.

South Africa Tour October 2016. From Three Countries, Windhoek NAMIBIA Ambassador Deniz Çaka, Lusaka ZAMBIA Ambassador Ahmet Arda, Gabaron-BOTSWANA Ambassador Abraham Mete Ogli invited to South Africa Tour.
During his concerts she sings Turkish traditional songs, Turkish Tangos and Turkish repertoires.

Jordan, Amman March 8, 2017. The Amman Embassy organized World Women's Day reception where Royal Highnesess Princess Wijdan Al Hashiminin participated, she gave a concert.

31 March 2017 Cemal Reşit Rey Istanbul Concert Hall. She made Turkey Promier with "World Gypsy Songs" concert.

Mrs. Ciftci currently works for Antalya State Opera and Ballet in Antalya, Turkey.
